Together

The sun may set over the tree’s
With miles of space between you and me
The clouds may come and pour the rain
With me or with you it’s all the same
The stars to shine or moon to glow
But none of this matters this much I know
No time, no space, no storm, no bind
Will keep us from being together in mind

Friends come and go, some that’ll last
But none here or there can put aside our past
Memories to come have yet to be made
Remembering you puts those in the shade
Thoughts they come while new paths are set
To a friend like you I owe a large debt
New times, new lives, new hopes, new dreams
You play a part together with these

Look on ahead and don’t look behind
There’s much more before us together we’ll find
God’s paths are set though we don’t know
While the door’s open together we’ll go
You play a part in my life to come
